The homegrown film-making duo of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg  have set Oct. 8 as the start date for a shoot in Vancouver on their latest feature comedy The Interview.

Rogen and Goldberg wrote the script and will share directing duties, which they did for the first time on this summer’s apocalyptic comedy This Is the End.

James Franco, who co-starred with Rogen in that movie and in Pineapple Express, is reportedly set to join the new movie’s cast, for a story about a talk show host and his producer who find themselves over their heads when they’re  sent to North Korea by the CIA to assassinate that country’s prime minister.

The $30 million movie is set to film for 10 weeks.

Rogen and Goldberg grew up in Vancouver but made their careers — Rogen as an actor and both of them as writers — in the U.S.  They last worked in Vancouver in 2010, when Rogen co-starred in the cancer comedy 50/50, which he co-produced with Goldberg.
